The Accursed Mountains: Theth, the pass to Valbona and a ferry through a flooded gorge.
The Albanian Alps, the Prokletije or Accursed Mountains, are the wildest range in the Balkans. The classic route takes the ferry through the fjord-like Koman reservoir to Valbona and walks over the pass to Theth, a village of stone towers and guesthouses below limestone walls. Shkodër, on its lake at the foot of the mountains, has the Rozafa castle and cycles more than any Albanian town.
