Green Spain: cider poured from overhead, cliff coves and pre-Romanesque churches.
Asturias keeps the Atlantic on one side and mountains on the other, with barely an hour between them. Oviedo has churches from before the Romanesque was invented, Gijón is a working city with a beach in the middle, and the coast between Ribadesella and Llanes is a run of coves and blowholes. Cider is poured from arm’s length to aerate it and drunk in a mouthful, and Somiedo in the interior is bear country with thatched shepherd huts.
