Blue domes over a colonial city, Panama hats, the lakes of Cajas and the Inca site of Ingapirca.
Cuenca is Ecuador’s most beautiful colonial city, with the blue domes of its cathedral over the old town, rivers running through it and the workshops where the so-called Panama hat is actually woven. Cajas National Park, half an hour away, is a high moorland of hundreds of lakes, and Ingapirca to the north is the largest Inca ruin in the country.
