A wooden colonial capital on the Atlantic, and a flight over the rainforest to one of the world’s mightiest falls.
Georgetown is a Caribbean capital on the South American mainland, with white wooden colonial buildings, a tall timber cathedral, the Stabroek market and a canal network laid out by the Dutch. The reason to come, though, is Kaieteur: a small plane crosses the rainforest to a single drop of more than two hundred metres, four times the height of Niagara, with almost nobody else there.
