Thermal gardens by the sea, the castle on its rock and Neapolitan food without the crowds of Capri.
Ischia is a volcanic island in the Bay of Naples with more hot springs than anywhere else in Italy: thermal parks such as Negombo and Poseidon step their warm pools down to the sea. The Aragonese Castle stands on its own rock joined by a causeway, Monte Epomeo is a morning’s hike, and the island eats rabbit and lemon while Capri, across the water, takes the day-trippers.
