Myrtos beach below the cliffs, cave lakes, sea turtles and a harbour of Venetian houses.

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands and green with fir forest on Mount Ainos. Myrtos beach is a white arc below high cliffs, the underground lake of Melissani lights up turquoise at noon, and loggerhead turtles swim in Argostoli harbour. Fiskardo in the north was spared by the 1953 earthquake and still has its Venetian harbour houses; boats cross from there to Ithaca.
