La Paz fills a canyon under the snow peak of Illimani, and its cable-car network is the best way to see it — from the witches’ market to the viewpoint of El Alto. The Death Road is a famous downhill ride into the Yungas. Copacabana, on the shore of Lake Titicaca, is where boats leave for the Isla del Sol, the birthplace of the Inca sun god.
