Lüneburg Heath

Purple heather in August, heath sheep, thatched villages and Celle’s half-timbered streets.

In August the Lüneburg Heath turns purple, and the Heidschnucken sheep that keep it open graze between juniper and sandy tracks. Thatched Undeloh is a start for walks and carriage rides to Wilsede; Celle has one of Germany’s largest half-timbered old towns, and the heath is full of family parks.
