Rajasthan is India at its most colourful: the pink city of Jaipur with Amber Fort, the blue city of Jodhpur below Mehrangarh, lake palaces in Udaipur and camel rides in the Thar desert. The Taj Mahal in Agra is a few hours from Jaipur. Best from October to March.
