Two volcanic spires rising straight out of the sea, with sulphur springs behind them.
The Pitons are what everyone comes for: two forested volcanic plugs standing 700 metres out of the water side by side, and the reef between them is protected. Behind Soufrière the collapsed caldera lets you drive almost into a volcano and bathe in warm sulphur mud. The interior is rainforest with parrots found nowhere else, the east coast takes the Atlantic swell and stays empty, and the island is small enough to cross in ninety minutes.
