Hammocks on Mekong islands, river dolphins, the Wat Phou temple and coffee on the Bolaven plateau.

In the far south of Laos the Mekong spreads across fourteen kilometres and breaks into thousands of islands, Si Phan Don. On Don Det and Don Khon life is hammocks, bicycles and sunsets, with the Khone Phapheng falls and the last Irrawaddy dolphins nearby. Upstream, Champasak has the pre-Angkor temple of Wat Phou, and Pakse is the gateway to the waterfalls and coffee farms of the Bolaven plateau.
