Half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries along one salmon river.
The river Spey runs past more whisky distilleries than any other valley on earth — Glenfiddich, The Macallan, Aberlour and dozens more, many open for tours and tastings along the Malt Whisky Trail. The Speyside Way follows the river on foot, Dufftown calls itself the malt whisky capital, and Elgin has a cathedral ruin and the Moray coast with dolphins nearby.
