Estonia’s student city, lake-dotted hills and smoke saunas in the south-east.

Tartu is Estonia’s university town and cultural capital, with a leaning town hall square, a ruined cathedral on the hill and the national museum in a former airfield. South of it the country rises into gentle hills and lakes: Otepää is the winter-sports village with summer trails, and around Võru the smoke-sauna tradition is listed by UNESCO.
